Paris Hilton will be meeting with her legions of fans as she signs copies of her new book, "Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me," in New York on Thursday. The debutante-turned-bestselling-author will appear at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square starting at 4 p.m. ...

Avenged Sevenfold are mapping out a North American tour, and they'll be bringing CKY along with them for the ride. Other support acts will be announced in the coming weeks. So far, the band's secured just a handful of dates for the trek, which will kick off on January 20 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ... Beck has released four never-before-heard tracks on his just-relaunched Web site: "Sorrow," "Day for Night," the abstract instrumental "Premonition" and a summery pop song simply called "Untitled 2." ...

Chris Cornell is suing his ex-wife and ex-manager, Susan Silver. The Audioslave frontman claims in a lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles that she conspired to divert money that belonged to him and his former Soundgarden bandmates and held his library of music, lyrics and Grammys hostage, which he says she's doing out of "personal animus" toward him. He also accuses her of putting her personal interests above her fiduciary duties when she was managing Soundgarden by not advising them of conflicts of interest. He's seeking over $1 million in damages. ... A Korn fan is suing the city of Tacoma, Washington, because he got knocked over at a concert and was forced to leave, despite being injured. The fan claims in a suit filed in Pierce County Court last week that he was jumped on and knocked down a level in the Tacoma Dome, breaking an arm and a hip. Security offered him no help, but told him to leave or he would be arrested, he claims in the suit, which also names the venue and Pro Staff security as defendants. ...

The Rolling Stones will perform during the Super Bowl XL halftime show, the NFL announced Tuesday (November 29). The game is set to take place February 5 at Ford Field in Detroit. ... Gratitude, the band featuring former Far frontman Jonah Matranga, have called it a day -- maybe. The band's last gig went down November 23 in Minneapolis. "We ended happy and able to look each other in the eyes," reads a posting on the band's MySpace page; all a label rep would say is the band is no longer with Atlantic Records. "In the much-too-short life of this band, we had some incredible times, put in a lot of good, hard work, and learned a lot about what we want and what we don't want in this life of trying to make a living making music." ...

Coheed and Cambria's Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness will be re-released on December 13 in a deluxe, expanded limited-edition version. The disc will come with a DVD featuring the videos for "Welcome Home" and "The Suffering," along with six animated vignettes based on the graphic novel for Good Apollo, an in-the-studio piece documenting the making of the album, and a mini-movie titled "Favor House Atlantic." ... On February 7, Beth Orton will release The Comfort of Strangers, her fourth album of electronica-tinged folk. Only this time, thanks to producer/former Sonic Youth member Jim O'Rourke, she's replaced the electronica with marimba. Orton recorded the deliberately lo-fi album with O'Rourke in just two weeks. The 14 tracks feature folksy collaborations with singer/songwriter M. Ward and percussionist Tim Barnes. ...

Bad Religion will release a DVD on February 20. Called "Live at the Palladium," it will feature footage shot over a two-night stint at the legendary Hollywood venue last year. The DVD also includes interviews with the Los Angeles punk band, never-before-seen footage from the New Wave Theatre captured between 1981 and 1983, a band photo gallery with new and vintage images, and a bunch of the group's music videos. ...

Just a week and a half after announcing their engagement, Kimberly Stewart and "Laguna Beach" star Talan Torriero are calling it off. "It was just too soon to enter into a lifelong commitment," their reps said in a joint statement. Torriero's rep also clarified that while the couple aren't heading for the altar anytime soon, they haven't broken up. ... Meanwhile, Kimberly's dad, Rod Stewart, and his fiancee, Penny Lancaster, welcomed a baby boy into the world early Sunday morning in London. The singer said in a statement that both Penny and the baby are "gorgeous, healthy, and doing well." ...

Hilary Duff will perform three songs and host the Hollywood party segments of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," which will air for the 34th consecutive year on December 31. Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest will host from Times Square in New York. ... A second round of nominees for the People's Choice Awards have been announced, for such categories as Favorite Movie, Favorite Movie Comedy, Favorite Movie Drama, Favorite Family Movie, and Favorite Tour (a toss-up between Green Day, Paul McCartney and U2). Ryan Cabrera will go head-to-head with gamers for the latest Xbox Live Game With Fame event on Tuesday. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has agreed to a clemency hearing on December 8 for reformed gang leader Tookie Williams, according to The Associated Press. Schwarzenegger is set to meet with Williams' lawyers and Los Angeles prosecutors in a private hearing to discuss possibly stopping the Crips founder's execution on December 13. Williams was charged with the murder of four people stemming from two robberies in 1979 and has been sitting on death row for the last 24 years. He has always denied his involvement in the killings and has spent the majority of his time behind bars preaching to kids about the dangers of gang life. Among the many high-profile supporters pleading to the governor to spare Williams' life is Snoop Dogg, Reverend Jesse Jackson and Jamie Foxx, who portrayed Williams in the 2004 TV biopic "Redemption." ...

Pat Morita, best known for playing the beloved martial-arts sensei Mr. Miyagi in the "Karate Kid" films, died on Thursday at the age of 73. According to a statement by his wife, Morita died of heart failure at a Las Vegas hospital. His manager, however, claims it was kidney failure that took his life, according to The Associated Press. Morita, who also played diner owner Arnold on the 1970s sitcom "Happy Days," is survived by his wife and three daughters. ... Vietnamese authorities officially charged British glam rocker Gary Glitter with child molestation on Saturday. The singer, born Paul Gadd, faces up to 12 years in a Vietnamese jail if convicted. According to a Reuters report, he will be held for up to three months before his trial, though authorities are considering granting bail because of the harsh conditions of Hanoi's detention center. Glitter has denied the allegations that he molested 10 girls, some as young as 12, and has said he was merely teaching them English. ...

Snow Patrol have written 30 songs and are headed into a British studio to begin work on the follow-up to their breakthrough 2004 album, Final Straw, according to a post by frontman Gary Lightbody on SnowPatrol.net. Working again with producer Garrett Lee, Snow Patrol "tinkered, steered, and unceremoniously bludgeoned" the 30 songs over a few weeks in a Glasgow, Scotland, rehearsal space, and now they appear ready to be committed to tape. ... The Secret Machines are putting the finishing touches on their second album, Ten Silver Drops. The LP is set for a mid-March release and will be preceded by the single "Alone, Jealous and Stoned." ...

E! Entertainment will air the fourth season of "The Simple Life" after FOX declined to renew the series. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, who are now feuding, will take turns running the same household, with the family deciding who did better, said a spokesperson for E!, which also acquired the rights to rerun the first three seasons. The format will allow for the stars not to have to come into contact with each other.
