Ruben Studdard Hospitalized

Singer, suffering from exhaustion, is likely to remain hospitalized through the end of the week.

Ruben Studdard was admitted to a Birmingham, Alabama, hospital Monday night, suffering from exhaustion.

The "American Idol" winner, whose second album, I Need an Angel, was released Tuesday (November 23), will likely remain in the hospital through the end of the week, according to his spokesperson.

All of the appearances on Studdard's packed promotional schedule, including a concert at Alabama State University on Wednesday and Atlantic City, New Jersey, shows Friday and Saturday, have been canceled.

Last week, Studdard filmed a holiday special, "Kelly, Ruben & Fantasia: Home for Christmas," which will air Wednesday on FOX.

I Need an Angel is a return to Ruben's gospel roots and features traditional numbers like "Amazing Grace" along with a few tunes he wrote himself (see [article id="1489257"]"Ruben Studdard Decides Christmas Just Isn't Spiritual Enough"[/article]).
