Woodstock Concertgoers Hit Organizers With Lawsuit

The saga of Woodstock '99 continued on Monday as a trio of New York City lawyers filed a class action lawsuit against the concert's organizers on behalf of all those who attended this year's festival in Rome, New York.

Group spokesman Irving Pinsky told MTV News that the Woodstock '99 organizers are guilty of "false promises and failure to provide a safe habitat." As an example, Pinsky cited several cases where attendees were not able to reach water and suffered "life threatening dehydration."

The lawyers are seeking unspecified damages, but have not had any contact yet with event organizers. In addition to the suit filed on Monday, Pinsky said that they are looking into filing a similar lawsuit against New York State Police who rolled onto the site to quell the looting, vandalism, and arson that marked the last night of the show.

At press time, the Woodstock camp had no comment.
