Master P Cut By Toronto Raptors

Master P's shot at fulfilling his NBA hoop dreams has fallen short.

The Toronto Raptors officially released Master P right before the team's practice on Wednesday night, according to media spokesman Dave Haggith. The roster move came a day before the Raptors were to play their final preseason game against the Denver Nuggets.

In five preseason appearances, P (listed in the Raptors' media guide by his real name, Percy Miller), played a total of 23 minutes, went four for 13 from the field (including three three-pointers), and was a perfect two for two from the free throw line for 13 total points.

From his guard position, Miller also had two rebounds and four turnovers and committed five personal fouls. His last game for the Raptors came on October 26 in a 116-104 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The cut marks the second time in the past year that Master P has failed to make an NBA team, as the Charlotte Hornets also considered, but eventually decided

against, possibly signing the rapper-athlete after inviting Miller to training camp in January (see [article id="1431938"]"Master P Dropped By Charlotte Hornets"[/article]).

Despite the on-court setback, Master P also has that multi-million dollar rap career to fall back on, and he just released his newest album, "Only God Can Judge Me," earlier this week.

The Toronto Raptors open their 1999-2000 season at home on November 2 against the Boston Celtics at the Air Canada Centre.
