Godsmack Album Pulled From Wal-Mart, Kmart
While you'll soon be seeing Godsmack in a new video, you won't be seeing the group in Wal-Mart in the near future.
The Boston band's self-titled album was pulled off Wal-Mart and Kmart shelves last week following a Cleveland parent's complaint that his son's CD contained objectionable artwork and lyrics.
Officials for the retail chains said that after Kevin Clarke and other customers expressed concern over a pentagram design and profane lyrics with satanic and suicidal themes, the stores decided to pull their national distribution.
Both Wal-Mart and Kmart have a policy against carrying albums with a parental advisory sticker and both felt that this album slipped through the cracks.
As for Godsmack, the group recently shot a video for "Keep Away" (see "Godsmack Heads To Dumpster For New Video"), and is currently out on the Ozzfest tour, which hits Washington, DC on Friday.
