Eminem, Britney, The Rock, More Headed To VMAs

Britney Spears and Eminem are headed to the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, but presumably not together.

Britney and Em have been added to the list of performers for this year's VMAs, joining 'NSYNC, Rage Against The Machine, and Janet Jackson among the artists slated to work the crowd when the award show is staged on September 7 at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

The cable outlet also announced the first wave of presenters for the awards, stating that WWF superstar The Rock, former VMA host Chris Rock, Sting, Eve, 98 Degrees, Destiny's Child, Nelly, and Ricky Martin will be handing out statuettes on September 7.

Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

As we previously reported, the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by "Scary Movie" comedians Shawn and Marlon Wayans, will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. (ET) on September 7 (see "Eminem, 'NSYNC Lead Video Music Awards Nominees").

Em and Britney are likely to spend plenty of time in the VMA spotlight next month, as Eminem heads into the night tied with 'NSYNC at the front of the pack with six nominations, and Britney goes in with four nominations.

Catch all the sizzlin', star-packed VMA action direct from Miami on August 28. MTV News' preshow kicks things off at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT, followed by big show at 8 p.m.
