The Roots' Rahzel Goes Solo, May Team With Beasties, Wyclef, De La Soul

The Roots member Rahzel, the group's [article id="1439175"]human beat box [800k QuickTime][/article], has a solo album due out in May, with Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest guest starring.

Other possible guest stars are Biz Markie and Common, who as it happens, is currently touring with Rahzel.

Meanwhile, Rahzel, the Beastie Boys and Wyclef Jean may collaborate with De La Soul on a project called "The Kids On Zenith Avenue." The project will most likely not appear until 1998, so nothing is confirmed at this early stage, but both the Beasties and Wyclef have expressed interest in the project.

Before that arrives, De La Soul will release the follow-up to their '96 album, "Stakes Is High," which they are currently working on.
