D'Angelo Grabs Number One As The LOX Make Big Debut

It pays to get buck-naked.

Super smooth R&B hitmaker D'Angelo, who wears nothing more than a smile in his new video, will debut at number one on next week's "Billboard" album chart according to sales figures released by SoundScan on Wednesday.

The singer's latest effort, "Voodoo," sold more than 321,000 copies in its first week in stores to bump Santana from the number one spot. D'Angelo's chart-topping debut was fueled by high critical praise as well as the hit single "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," a song written and produced by Raphael Saadiq, formerly of Tony! Toni! Toné! and currently with Lucy Pearl.

D'Angelo bumps "Supernatural" from the top of the chart, a position that Carlos Santana's band has essentially owned since last fall (though the group has been displaced on a few occasions). Santana moved another 181,000 copies of the album to land at number two.

Also making a strong initial showing are the newly anointed members of the Ruff Ryders family,

The Lox. The hip-hop trio sold more than 152,000 copies of their "We Are The Streets" album to debut at number five. Other notable debuts include Guy's "III" at number 13, the metal-driven soundtrack to "Scream 3" at 33, Three 6 Mafia's "Three 6 Mafia Presents Hypnotize Camp Posse" at 36, and Canadian songstress Anne Murray's "What A Wonderful World" at 38.
