After almost 30 years of recording, numerous lineup changes and a healthy stretch of top-10 hits in the '80s, L.A. new wavers the Motels are getting the retrospective treatment.

The double-CD set Anthologyland will hit stores February 6, featuring 32 tracks covering the group's tumultuous career.

Led by acclaimed frontwoman Martha Davis, the band formed in 1972 and hit its stride in the '80s with a string of hits that included "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer." Anthologyland boasts previously unreleased versions of those songs, as well as fresh takes on "Mission of Mercy," "Danger" and "Total Control."

In all, 25 of the two-CD set's 32 tracks are rarities, including B-sides and live tracks. Fans will get a 1971 demo recorded under the band's previous name, Warfield Foxes, as well as the Motels' early Georgio Moroder-produced version of "Take My Breath Away" (which was eventually recorded by Berlin for the "Top Gun" soundtrack).

The collection also includes an outtake of "Mystery D.J." (co-written by legendary Elton John songwriter Bernie Taupin), Davis and Sly Stone's duet on Joan Armatrading's "Love and Affection" (from the "Soul Man" soundtrack), a demo of Davis covering the Patsy Cline hit "Crazy" and the band's 1984 "Saturday Night Live" performance of "Remember the Nights," as well as one new track, "Coco and John," recorded by Davis.
