Sean "Puffy" Combs Inks Bio Deal, Bonuses

Sean Puffy Combs will be showing his success on paper, a success that is landing the player-turned-producer-turned record exec some serious bonus bucks.

Ballantine Books has inked Combs to a deal to pen his autobiography for the company. The tome will be Puff Daddy's life story covering his achievements, trials and tribulations. According to a statement from the publisher, it will center on "how a person can transform not only his own life and legacy, but how others might realize their own dreams of empowerment."

The book will be co-written with "Rolling Stone" writer Mikal Gilmore. It's scheduled to hit the shelves in the fall of 1999.

Combs is also reportedly reeling in some hefty bonuses from his label's mothership, according to "Newsweek." Combs has reportedly already received a bonus of between $40 million and $45 million from BMG, the parent company to the Comb's Bad Boy Entertainment. Another payment of between $10 million and $20 million is still to come, says the

magazine.

Combs certainly appears to be enjoying the good life. He's hanging out at his summer home in the Hamptons hobnobbing with the polo crowd. Puff Daddy and son Justin are being honored at the tony Mercedes-Benz polo tournament in Bridgehampton. The activities benefit Daddy's House, a urban youth charity set up by Combs in 1994.
