On Wednesday (January 5) Nicki Minaj tweeted that her Pink Friday album had achieved what many new artists pray for.

"Pink Friday certified Platinum by the RIAA," she wrote, meaning the LP has sold one million copies to-date, including the boxes of albums stores have purchased to sell along with the number of albums she's sold according to Nielsen SoundScan.

This milestone shouldn't be surprising since the Queens native has broken quite a few records recently. In addition to becoming the first woman on MTV News' Hottest MCs In The Game list — she checked in at #6, just ahead of her Young Money label head Lil Wayne — she's also the first female rapper to sell such a large amount of records in eight years.

Oddly enough, Barbie's nemesis Lil' Kim was the last woman in hip-hop to garner the same ecord sales with a solo album.

Released in 2003, Kim's La Bella Mafia LP reached platinum and boasted two chart-worthy singles, including the Timbaland-produced "The Jump Off " featuring the Lost Boyz's Mr. Cheeks and the street savvy "Magic Stick" featuring then-upstart 50 Cent. However before the Queen Bee's 2003 success, her debut album 1996's Hardcore reached the 1,000,000 benchmark. That same year, fellow New York femcee, and longtime enemy, Foxy Brown sold one million copies of her introductory album Ill Na Na, the only one of her records to do so. But neither veteran artists were the first to reach this apex.

Illinois MC Da Brat's 1994 album Funkdafied was actually the first female rap album to reach platinum. Not to mention, the collection boasts one of RapFix's favorite cuts featuring Notorious B.I.G., "Da B Side."

Five years later, Eve's 1999 debut LP Let There Be Eve ... Ruff Ryder's First Lady reached double platinum. Singles like "Gotta Man," following the salsa-tinged "What Ya Want," and "Love Is Blind" featuring Faith Evans pushed the LP to no. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, a milestone for a female MC's. Missy Elliott's second album 2002's Under Construction mirrored Eve's journey by reaching double platinum, and 50 Cent was featured in Missy's remix video for "Work It." Should we call Fif's appearances a trend?

With all of the sales power between these ladies, wouldn't it be amazing to see all of them rhyme on one track? There's never a bad time for a "Ladies Night" remix, right?
