'Miley: The Movement': 9 Miley Moments To See Again (And Again)

Miley sings Shakira, hangs with Britney Spears and reveals who gave her the approval to chop off her hair in the MTV doc.

It may be hard to guess what life has been like for Miley Cyrus during these whirlwind few months, but after watching her MTV documentary, "Miley: The Movement," fans are now getting a whole new perspective.

Viewers were invited along for the ride on Wednesday night as Miley began her movement -- from the release day of "We Can't Stop" to twerking onstage at the VMAs.

Here are the nine moments we'll be watching over and over again from "Miley: The Movement."

Miley Could Have Been In Paramore?

Miley has undergone a complete change within this past year with everything from her style to her music. Yet, if you had told Miley five years ago that she would be collaborating with Future, Big Sean and Nelly, she would have never believed you.

"When I was like a little punky teenager, I wanted to make rock music," Miley said. "That's what I thought I wanted to do. I thought I was going to come out and be some sort of like a Paramore, in a band, that's what I really thought I was going to end up doing."

Miley Remembers Her Smilers

Miley has one of the most devoted fan groups, and it turns the feeling is mutual. During one scene, Miley meets up with some of her die-hard Smilers, but there was one in particular that caught her attention as she was sporting a onsie that read "sex, drugs, rap." Not only did Miley compliment her look, she also remembered the same fan's dress from a past event. In calling her "always crafty," a fan freakout justifiably ensued.

Miley Has Her Doubts

On the day of her triumphant return to music with the release of "We Can't Stop," things weren't turning out as planned. In one of her more vulnerable moments, Miley nervously calls producer Mike Will Made It, questioning their decision to release the single, since, at the time, it was only #181 on iTunes.

Later in the day, Miley's mom, Tish, broke the news that it was now sitting high on the charts at #2, but still Miley wanted more. "If you're not first, you're last," Cyrus said.

Miley Channels Dolly

Say what you will about Miley Cyrus, but the truth is, girl can sing. Back in 2012, Miley covered godmother Dolly Parton's "Jolene" during her "Backyard Sessions." The video not only became a viral hit, but it sparked the interest of Bangerz co-producer, Pharrell.

Pharrell Approves Of Miley's Pixie

Miley's movement has been all about change, and it started with letting go of something that was synonymous with her image: her hair. In August 2012, Miley decided to trade in her long locks for a short pixie cut, but before doing so she wanted to get approval from her "big bro," Pharrell.

"Right after that phone call, I took a train to New York and my hair stylist was there and I just said, 'Shave my head, dye me blonde,' let go of a past in a way because I felt we needed to see change, everything that happens we need to see for our own eyes," Cyrus said. "I felt I could finally be the bad bitch I really am."

Tish Does A Mean Mike Will Made It

Tish Cyrus is a lot of things -- a mom, a manager and Miley's "homey." What we didn't know is that Tish can also do a mean impersonation. For months, she'd been surrounded with Miley's new music collaborators. During the documentary, she showed off her best Mike Will Made It impression -- "Man, she's dope!"

Miley's Hips Don't Lie

Miley gets it from her mama! After seeing Tish's impression of Mike Will, we shouldn't have been too surprised to see Miley get in the action. During her rehearsal for her "Jimmy Kimmel" and "Good Morning America" performance, Miley asks collaborator will.i.am's input on getting braids in her hair, which reminds Miley of Shakira. Miley then busts out a spot-on version of "Hips Don't Lie."

Passing the Pop Torch

There is so much to digest during the interaction between Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus, which had Miley exclaiming, "8-year-old me would be pissing my pants right now." After getting a rare glimpse of Britney in the studio laying down her vocals for Miley's "SMS (Bangerz)," the two have a girl-to-girl conversation about the Video Music Awards. In a way, Britney, who has some of the most memorable VMA performances of all time, was passing the pop torch to Miley, but did have one question in mind.

"You're not going to be topless onstage like in the video?" Britney asked.

"I tried to go there but I don't think MTV is going to allow it," Miley answered. "I'm like what about nude latex?"

Miley got what she wished for!

Miley Gets In The Zone

It was the start to one of the biggest nights in her career. Miley was set to arrive to the 2013 Video Music Awards pre-show red carpet in a police car accompanied by her date, Boo the bear, but things quickly went awry as they missed her drop-off location, forcing her to change her arrival.

Of course, Miley was frustrated and upset of the outcome, but being the true professional that she is, put on her game face, got out of her car, stuck out her tongue and posed for the paparazzi, showing off what a bad bitch she really is.
