Biggie Bumps Celine From Top Of Album Chart

The late Notorious B.I.G.'s legacy continues to live on as the rapper's new posthumous album, "Born Again," will top next week's "Billboard" album chart.

According to sales figures released by SoundScan on Wednesday, Biggie's latest sold more than 485,000 copies in its first week in stores to bump Celine Dion from the top spot. A strong street promotion effort, a warm radio reception for the single "Dead Wrong," as well as Biggie's enduring influence helped Bad Boy Records score its biggest debut of the year with the album.

Celine didn't go far after surrendering the top spot, slipping to number two as sales of her "All The Way: A Decade Of Song" actually increased over the previous week. After selling more than 327,000 copies of the album two weeks ago, she sold more than 414,000 copies of it last week to stay within striking distance of number one.

Besides Biggie, the week is thin on new arrivals with the compilation "Now That's What I Call Music: Vol. 3"

(powered by Limp Bizkit, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and others) boasting the only other top ten debut. Other notable new arrivals include New York DJ Funkmaster Flex at 35, Tommy Lee's Methods Of Mayhem at 71, teen popster Mandy Moore at 77, Sheryl Crow and friends at 107, and MTV's "Party To Go" collection at 108.

And in the "There's no such thing as bad press..." department, Jay-Z sees his "Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life" re-enter the chart at 190.
