'Captain America' Writer Wants Peter Dinklage As MODOK For Sequel

During an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Markus shared that his hopes for a "Captain America" sequel would have The First Avenger face off against technician-turned-villain MODOK, the Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing.

And Markus knows exactly who he'd want for the role: "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage. “I will win you over to Peter Dinklage as MODOK. If he came around the corner and you saw him floating there you would be terrified. It would be amazing," he said.

Unfortunately, not everyone at Marvel is on board with the idea. "I love MODOK and I think you could make a terrifying movie with MODOK but nobody seems to be on my side at the momentum,” Markus admitted. Despite the fact that MODOK has appeared in over four decades of Marvel comics, he is a bit of a hard sell because he would require a decent amount of CGI and isn't the most identifiable of villains for the uninitiated.

But Markus isn't too concerned about that. After the success of Red Skull as a villain in "Captain America: The First Avenger," he is interested to see what filmmakers could do with MODOK.

"In this movie, the great thing is [the visual effects and makeup team] really pulled off the Red Skull," he said. "It doesn’t look like a mask. it looks like it’s fully integrated into his flesh. And I want to see what they can do with MODOK."
