Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Santana Added To Latin Grammys

Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, and Sheila E. are among the latest batch of performers added to the inaugural Latin Grammy Awards, being held next week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Other artists confirmed yesterday by Michael Greene, the CEO and president of the Latin Recording Academy, include Miami Sound Machine, Mana, Celia Cruz, Shakira, Tito Puente Jr., Arturo Sandoval, David Sanchez, and Alejandro Fernandez.

Those acts will join the previously announced performers for the show, Christina Aguilera, 'NSYNC, Jennifer Lopez, Son By Four, and Gloria Estefan (see [article id="1424791"]"'NSYNC Joins Aguilera, Lopez For Latin Grammys"[/article]).

Aside from the performers, the Latin Recording Academy has also tapped Antonio Banderas, Jon Secada, Oscar De La Hoya, Cheech Marin, Placido Domingo, and Penelope Cruz to be presenters at the event, which will be broadcast live on CBS on September 13 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Lopez and Estefan will co-host the awards ceremony along with Andy Garcia and Jimmy Smits. The show will present awards in more than 40 categories and is expected to be seen by audiences in more than 120 countries around the globe.
