Kimberly J. Brown’s Halloween Book Makes Up For The 'Halloweentown' Book Not Being Real

‘Poppin’s Pumpkin Patch Parade’ is Brown’s ‘gift’ to fans of the classic DCOM

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who always wanted to own the book featured in Disney's Halloweentown, and liars. Sadly, that book was just a prop for the film and isn't actually legit — though star Kimberly J. Brown did get to keep one of the original books from the set. While we're still not getting that book, Brown has the next best thing for Halloweentown fans, and fans of Halloween in general.

As she revealed in a YouTube video last month, Brown is penning a Halloween-themed book. On Wednesday (August 17), she shared the first glimpse of it, titled Poppin's Pumpkin Patch Parade and co-authored with Diane Yslas. The book is due out this fall.

The story follows Pumpky Pumpkin, Huh & Hay hay bales, and Houdini Zucchini as they help save a Halloween parade. I can just picture parents reading this to their little monsters in Halloweentown the way parents in our world read Harry Potter to their kids. As Brown said in the press release, "The fans of Halloweentown have grown up with me and many have kids of their own, so the children's book is my gift to them."

During this year's Spirit of Halloweentown festival, Brown will return to St. Helens, Oregon — where Halloweentown was filmed — for various festivities, including a special book reading. If we can't have the coveted Halloweentown book, Brown's new creation is definitely the next best thing.
