Shyne Calls Kendrick Lamar's 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' 'Traaaaash'

Exiled MC takes to Twitter to give his unapologetic take on Lamar's major-label debut.

Not everyone is a fan of Kendrick Lamar's audio-cinematic LP [article id="1695944"]good kid, m.A.A.d city[/article]. Since dropping his major-label debut on Monday, K-Dot has received a ton of critical and fan praise, with many heralding his album an instant classic, but the young Compton MC does have his detractors, most notably exiled rapper Shyne.

"Yoooo! Kendrick Lamar is talented with a lot of potential but his album is traaaaash," Shyne tweeted of the Dr. Dre-helmed album before comparing it to Game and 50 Cent's debut projects. "The game Documentary even 50 get rich or die trying lived up to the hype and were classics. Good kid is trash!"

Po's comments didn't seem to rattle Kendrick in the least bit, but his Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate and Black Hippy rhyme partner Schoolboy Q quickly came to K-Dot's defense. Q wrote: "We all know @OriginalSHyne AIN'T EATIN!!!!! N*gga ain't had a hot verse since '01." Shyne fired back with a tweet that included a homophobic slur (since deleted apparently but still visible in a screen grab captured by MTV News) and told Q, "When mobsters talking rappers be quiet!"

Houston MC Slim Thug, who seems to be impartial with no direct ties to Kendrick or TDE weighed in as well by retweeting one of Shyne's messages preceded by two emojis: a surprised face and a pistol pointed to the head.

The "Bad Boyz" rapper, who recently tore into [article id="1695140"]Rick Ross[/article], [article id="1695364"]Drake[/article] and [article id="1695284"]President Barack Obama[/article], responded to Slim Thug to plead his case. "@slimthugga I'm saying tho, all the hype I wanted to hear the champion! I heard a kid with potential. The beats was trash!"
