Pink Ditches Acrobatics To Go 'Over The Rainbow' At Oscars

Singer performed 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' in tribute to Judy Garland.

Pink wasn't up for any awards at Sunday night's (March 2) Academy Awards, but the high-flying singer probably earned one with one of her signature breathtaking performances during the broadcast.

In her Oscars debut, Pink left the aerial acrobatics to the flying monkeys and kept her feet firmly planted on the ground during a moving musical tribute to screen legend Judy Garland. Instead of shooting up to the rafters as she's done on past awards telecasts, Pink elegantly moved across the stage belting out "Over the Rainbow" as a screen showed iconic images from "The Wizard of Oz."

Her voice powerful and full of emotion, the singer, dressed in a glittering red gown that echoed Dorothy's magical slippers, had a serious #covermoment. Pink's vocals rose to a crescendo on the song's chorus as the strings swelled and images of Dorothy and her cohorts skipping down the yellow brick road unspooled behind her.
