"Bridesmaids" star Ellie Kemper is officially a bride.

On "Conan" Wednesday night, the 31-year-old actress confirmed that she is engaged to Michael Koman, her boyfriend of several years, People reports.

During her interview, O'Brien threw in that he wanted "to mention something … It's sort of a big deal around this office. You got engaged."

Kemper replied, "Yeah, I did!" O'Brien offered his congratulations, describing Koman as a "very talented writer who worked for me for many, many years."

Sounds like Koman the stamp of approval from his former boss, but what about Kemper's family?

The actress admits that while her parents "like him a lot," her grandfather wasn't sold right away. She remembers that a few Thanksgivings ago, when the dessert came out, "There was a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie … and my grandpa said, 'Ellie, what kind of pie are you gonna have?' I said, 'I don't know, grandpa. They both look really good. I think I'll have pecan.' He said, 'Are you sure, Ellie? Because it's okay to keep your options open. You don't have to settle on a pie right now.'" (Insert awkward silence here.)  She laughs, "I think Michael started to squirm!"

Gotta love grandpas and their thinly-veiled food analogies — but either way, Kemper has moved on from pie, because now it's time for cake!
