This Emotional Best Actress Speech Proves Why You Should Never Give Up

Don't count the 'No's. It only takes one 'Yes' to make it happen.

Rachel Bloom's tearful (and still totally fist-pumpy) acceptance speech for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series for her new sing-song comedy series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" just reminded us that you should never let someone say "never" to your dreams.

Turns out, Bloom -- who came into her own first as a YouTube star before catching the attention of her future writer collaborator Aline Brosh McKenna -- got the proverbial door slammed in her face many, many times before her show was picked up by a network. And whaddya know, its inaugural season has earned her this.

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh, alright, guys, guys, guys, I’m just going to talk to you all as people and pretend that I’m not on TV," an exasperated and completely surprised Bloom exclaimed from the stage. "We almost didn’t have a show. We made a pilot for another network. And they rejected it, and we sent the pilot to every other network in Hollywood and then we got six rejections in one day and we felt like crap."

See, Bloom didn't let all the "no" talk prevent her from pressing forward for her much-deserved "yes" because, she said, "we knew it was good."

Sure enough, Mark Pedowitz from The CW saw something in it and brought the show to life, and now it's part of Golden Globes history. BOOM.

Here's to never letting go of your dreams, kids.
