Prince Offers Fans Exclusive Material Via Online Club

Project to kick off on Valentine's Day with party at Studio 54.

Most people open their hearts on Valentines Day — Prince is opening his vault.

Beginning Tuesday, devoted Prince fans will have access to unreleased songs, rehearsal jams at the legendary Paisley Park Studios and much more through the pop legend's online NPG Music Club.

Prince is launching the club, named after his New Power Generation collective, with a party on Tuesday night at Studio 54 in New York. At the stroke of midnight, guests will be able to sign up for the NPG Music Club on computers located inside the famed discotheque. New music and videos from Prince and the New Power Generation will be debuted at the party.

A premium membership in the club costs $100 a year and awards fans with preferred seating at all Prince shows, passes to after parties, several new and unreleased New Power Generation songs and videos each month, NPG merchandise, and a limited edition copy of Prince's Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic, a 14-song remixed version of Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic (1999).

Basic membership costs $7.77 a month and guarantees members three NPG MP3s and videos each month along with multimedia opportunities such as "Make Your Own Mix," where fans can remix NPG music.

Both memberships include a monthly one-hour music and commentary radio show hosted by NPG members, including Prince. The club also plans to have Paisley Park rehearsal sessions and an NPG Music Club compilation album available to all members at a later date.

Fans can register at, and although the official registry date is still days away, more than 7,000 fans have already signed up.
