Woody Harrelson Backs Wesley Snipes In Legal Scrap, Calls Jail Time 'Unjust'

But for longtime pal Woody Harrelson, Snipes' conviction is absolutely nothing to smile about, calling his buddy "one of the greatest guys I know."

"He came up against a very unjust system. Hopefully, he never has to go to jail because I really don't think he deserves it," Harrelson said of his four time co-star ("Wildcats," "Play it to the Bone," "Money Train," and most famously, "White Men Can't Jump"). "Hopefully, he comes out of it well."

"My family hung out with his family a couple days ago," Harrelson added, somewhat reticent. "I'd better not say too much about it. He'll always be a brother. I don't want to have to go talk to him through glass on the phone."

Time will tell, of course, whether that will come to pass, although things are not looking good for Snipes, who more than likely will be made an example of because of his fame and wealth."

So is Snipes a scapegoat? Or do you think he deserves the punishment he's received? Sound off on your thoughts below.
