If anyone was going to debut Tom Ford’s namesake jersey dress from his Fall ‘14 collection, OF COURSE it was going to be Beyonce. She pretty much has a claim to it considering the “knockoff of a knockoff” was majorly inspired by her husband’s song—you know, the one that boasts the hook that's written all over it. Plus, let’s be real: The one thing Queen Bey can’t resist is a good sequined dress. So Beyonce, being Beyonce, hit the stage wearing the runway creation during her Mrs. Carter Show yesterday (March 18) in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam.

Amazingly, this is the first time the garment has been worn (publicly, not on the runway), but it already has a history as long as Blu Ivy's lifespan. The concept of designer jerseys first appeared in 2012 when French designer BBP teamed up with VFiles on a collection of them. Tom Ford didn't make that initial lineup but soon after Jay Z's song named for him came out, BBP released a new iteration inspired by that song, which led Tom Ford to creating this very dress, now made iconic by Beyonce.
