Britney Spears Shows Her Rock Side In Online Chat

Teen says if she wasn't singing pop, she'd be rockin'.

Britney Spears wants to rock — or at least that's what the teen singer would be doing if she wasn't turning out pop hits, she told fans in an online chat Wednesday.

"I'm taking guitar lessons now, so in the future I would love to play guitar," the singer said during a half-hour chat at FOX.com. "I've only had one lesson; I'm pretty bad right now."

Her rock leanings were further revealed when she named her cover of the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" (RealAudio excerpt) as one of her favorite songs she's recorded. She named Prince's "Purple Rain" as the next song she'd like to cover.

The singer's sophomore album, Oops! ... I Did It Again, released May 16, is #3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. She said she enjoyed her new album more than the first because she had more control, co-writing the track "Dear Diary" (RealAudio excerpt).

"I have a lot of songs I'm writing," Spears said, though she did not mention plans for her next album, adding that she wants to rest after completing her summer tour.

Her tour, which kicks off June 20 in Columbia, Md., will feature elaborate choreography, she said. Some of the songs she plans to perform include "What You See Is What You Get," "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know," "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "Don't Go Knockin' on My Door" and "Lucky," which she said will be her next single.
