Foxy, Britney Take Top Of Album Chart

According to sales figures released Wednesday by SoundScan, Foxy's latest effort, "Chyna Doll," will score the number one album in the country next week after selling more that 172,000 copies in its first week in stores. Foxy unseats fellow rapper Silkk the Shocker, whose "Made Man" drops to number three after debuting in the top spot last week. Silkk saw his impressive first week sales figures (more than 240,000) slashed in half in his second week out as he sold another 116,000 copies.

Teen popper Britney Spears will see her "Baby One More Time" album jump back up to number three next week after spending a week at number three. Spears saw sales of her debut album bump from 122,000 to 149,000 to slip into the number two position. Last week's number two, which belonged to Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, slides to number six next week after selling another 95,000 copies of their "Live at Luther College" double-CD set.

This week's sales numbers also brought good news for Cher,

who continues to see her album "Believe" climb on the strength of the album's globally successful title track. The album jumped ten slots from 31 last week to 21 this week after seeing her sales increase from just under 44,000 to 58,000.

It was a good week for such divas as Whitney Houston saw her latest effort, "My Love Is Your Love," generate a little heat after 11 weeks on the chart. The album saw its sales figures rise from 41,000 to 45,000 as it moved from number 34 to number 31.
