'Arrow' Clip: Oliver Queen Shoots To Kill

Comparisons between Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy and The CW's upcoming "Arrow" are inevitable, and not wholly unfair. But there's a very big difference between Nolan's gritty Batman and the Oliver Queen we're about to meet on the small screen -- unlike the former hero, Queen shoots to kill.

You can get a taste of just how lethal Queen's tactics truly are in a brand new clip from "Arrow" released today, and viewable below.

The sneak peek from the pilot episode, premiering on October 10, shows Oliver in action, dressed head to toe in his emerald archer duds. He's not aiming to simply scare his enemies, either, as several of his arrows find themselves deeply lodged in human flesh. It's an effort to send a message to the mobster Oliver is really after, and judging by the final shot of the clip, it looks like his plans paid off.

Back at Comic-Con, star Stephen Amell spoke with MTV News about the many sides of Oliver Queen we'll meet on "Arrow."

"If we set our show in the real world, if we ground it in reality, then he doesn't just magically get archery skills and jujitsu skills and parkour skills and a sense of hearing and just a keen awareness. That is learned, and I would wager to bet painfully earned along the way," Amell said. "So it's really fun because I get to play all those different characters along the way. I think that the Arrow character is actually him. Technically I have a costume on, but that seems to be the real me."
