Selena Gomez's 'Stars Dance' Tour Is 'Not' A Pop Show

Tourmates Emblem3 tell fans to expect 'old-school, punk-rock style music' on the upcoming trek.

If you're one of the many fans waiting to see a glitzy pop show on Selena Gomez's [article id="1712077"]Stars Dance World Tour[/article], you may be disappointed.

According to opening act Emblem3, they're making it a rock show.

"If you come to our show, honestly get ready to rock out 'cause we go hard. Like old-school, punk rock style music," Drew Chadwick told MTV News. "So we kind of bring that onstage... it's funny because I think people expect more like a pop show. Then they come see us and we just end up rocking out really hard. Our band is all these old school rockers. It's fun, super cool."

Wesley Stromberg further teased, "We try to find a way to bring that out in our sound and it freaking goes hard, man."

Their tour must-haves include guitars and skateboards, and they are hoping that before show time they can hang out in the wilds of Canada. Drew said, "I want to go on one hike or one sick Canadian camping trip."

While Gomez hasn't offered up the "Chloe" singers any advice ahead of the gig, they have already spent some time bonding before the 56-city trek kicks into high gear. "We went to Disneyland and we hung out," Wesley recalled. "We rented a party bus. It was really fun." Though he did note that Gomez relayed this message, "Get ready to have a freaking blast, best time ever."

The Stars Dance World Tour will touch down in various ports around the globe, before landing in the U.S. in October. In between dates on the tour, Gomez is up for two Moonmen at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards for her Anthony Mandler-directed video for "Come & Get It." She's up for Best Song Of The Summer and Best Pop Video. The show takes place on August 25, live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

MTV News was with the singer at her tour rehearsals and she revealed how she's been [article id="1712222"]prepping for the tour[/article], with lots of dance rehearsals. "I think the dancing is what I'm most nervous about because I'm such a perfectionist," Gomez shared. "And two of my best friends are actually on that stage with me that are dancers and have been dancing for years so I want to keep up with them and that's been something that's been challenging. It's great and I feel like I've been working out, which I feel I need to do more of."
