If it wasn’t clear before, it’s now a sure thing: Austin Mahone has found a foolproof formula for his new music.

The 19-year-old has been busy churning out tracks lately — in the month of September alone, he released three new songs as free downloads on Soundcloud. One of those, “Not Far (a song for Mema)” was an emotional tribute to his late grandmother. But the other two, “Do It Right” and “On Your Way,” were R&B-leaning jams in the vein of Chris Brown. Both showcased Austin’s maturing vocals, and both recruited a rapper friend to lend a verse (Rob Villa on “Do It Right” and KYLE on “On Your Way”).

For his latest release, Austin has kept that formula in tact with “Put It On Me,” a clubby jam featuring slick production and sultry lyrics like “You know what I need/A night alone with your body/Put it on me.” Sage the Gemini — who once made magic happen with Nick Jonas on “Good Thing” — contributes a short but memorable verse that only further proves Austin’s gunning for a legitimate R&B crown.
