New Song: Black Cards, 'End Of Pretend' Featuring Matthew Koma

While we'll always have fond Fall Out Boy mmrs (thnks fr those, guys), it's good to hear Pete Wentz is back in the studio with new band, Black Cards, an EDM project with sumo-heavy synths and a definite dubstep influence. With Wentz on bass and lyrics (obvs) and a helping hand from drummer Spencer Peterson, the group will follow up their recent remix escapades (and the departure of singer Bebe Rexha) with the release of an EP titled Use Your Disillusion out this week.

The set's lead track is "End of Pretend," a dancefloor banger that chops its way into the 10-ton drop. Singer Matthew Koma fills in on the fuzz-covered vocals, laying down Wentz's signature emotional and witty lines: "It's just the kiss/ With the force of a fist," Koma sings. Ouch. He might as well be singing about the bass, which you might want to warn the neighbors about before turning this one up. The nasty track's already wubbed its way to the top of the Hype Machine charts, a sure sign you'll be hearing DJs blow out nightclubs and pool parties with it all summer.

Black Cards' Guns N' Roses-referencing EP (dubstep is the new hair metal!) is out July 17 on iTunes and Beatport. Dnt frgt!
