'The Scorch Trials' Cast Preview What's Coming Next In 'The Death Cure'

Dylan says it's going to be 'vicious.'

Major spoilers for "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" lie ahead!

Okay, so maybe we've only just finished watching the latest installment in the "Maze Runner" series, "The Scorch Trials," but that doesn't mean we can't start looking forward to "Death Cure," right? Right.

So when Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Rosa Salazar, Dexter Darden, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jacob Lofland, and Alexander Flores visited MTV News in New York this past week, we just had to get the scoop on what's next for the Gladers after their tumultous time in the Scorch.

"What's going to make 'Death Cure' so cool is the toll that 'The Scorch Trials' put on all of us individually," Darden explained. "Just the journey, thinking we've come so far and it all being taken away, and being betrayed by Teresa, losing Minho, losing Winston on the road. All of our characters are going to take a big growth."

"In the book, they go to Denver," O'Brien added. "There will be a passage of time, whereas the first two you can watch as a double feature."

Hopefully, this passage of time will help explain why Teresa betrayed the Gladers so intensely at the end of "Scorch Trials" -- a sentiment with which Scodelario herself agrees.

"For me, the third one is all about me trying to understand why she made the choices she makes at the end of the second one," Scodelario said. "So I'm really excited to see the WCKD environment, to learn more about how it started, where it came from, and what their morals were when they first founded this organization."

Meanwhile, Salazar said that Brenda will just be trying to "maintain stability" in the midst of her illness, while O'Brien is looking forward to debuting "a different Thomas than we've ever seen before," a Thomas who is "so broken down" that he becomes "angrier" and "vicious."

Sounds good to us!

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" is in theaters nationwide.
