Natalie Portman Dishes On Her 'Black Swan' Sex Scene With Mila Kunis

It's been a whole 24 hours since MTV Movies Blog last brought you news of the already infamous "Black Swan" sex scene showcasing the bedroom talents of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis... so we figured it was about time for a follow-up.

And since yesterday's post was all about how Kunis banned her dad from watching the aforementioned scene between the ballet-rivals-turned-bed-mates, we're keeping things fair today by offering you Ms. Portman's take on filming the steamy sequence with her co-star and, as it happens, off-screen BFF.

"It was really crazy, because Mila and I were very good friends," Portman told MTV News at the "Black Swan" junket. "And when Darren [Aronofsky, the director] asked me, 'Who do you think could do this part? Who has sort of a similar height, coloring, physique?' I was like, 'Oh, Mila, Mila, Mila!' He met her and obviously flipped over her, and she's super talented and does an amazing job in the movie."

That was all well and good, but then it dawned on Portman what this pairing meant. "I didn't really think through the fact that I was going to have to have sex with her in the movie," she admitted. "So that was pretty awkward. It almost, I feel like, would be easier to do it with someone you didn't know, weirdly. But, having said that, it was great to have a friend there who -- we could laugh and make jokes and get over it together."

But unlike a performance of, say, "Swan Lake," there wasn't a whole lot of step-by-step choreography that went into the rather intense love scene. "You obviously talk about it in some ways -- like the shared experience of the awkwardness of it. But we weren't plotting out, like, 'And then you'll pull my hair!' No, that didn't happen," Portman laughed.

For his part, director Darren Aronofsky didn't try to make things less uncomfortable. "He didn't want us to be friends while we were shooting, because we're rivals in the movie," Portman said of Aronofsky. "So we both had to do this ballet training, but he would make it at different times, and then he would tell me, 'She's doing really well,' and then tell her, 'Natalie's doing so much better than you. But we would share the information, so we were like, 'He's messing with us. This isn't real, this isn't real.'"
