Cypress Hill To "Smoke Out" With 311, Dead Prez

After drawing some 40,000 fans to last year's event, Cypress Hill is gearing up for the third edition of its annual Smoke Out festival, slated for October 7 at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, California.

The final lineup for the "Smoke Out 2000" concert has just been finalized, with more than 40 acts set to perform during the 14-hour show, including Cypress Hill, 311, System Of A Down, Pennywise, Redman and Erick Sermon, Dead Prez, Xzibit, Gang Starr, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Dilated Peoples, TapRoot, SX-10, and the Freestyle Fellowship, among others.

DJs and turntablists will also have a significant presence at the show, with Tony Touch, DJ Swamp, DJ Z-Trip, and the Funky Tekno Tribe -- a collective that features DJ Rap, DJ Dan, DJ Sneak, Mark Farina, and Donald Glaude -- slated to play the all-day affair as well.

As with past years, there will also be a "surprise 4:20 p.m. act" in keeping with the festival event's "smoke

'em if ya got 'em" theme. The 1999 "Smoke Out" surprise acts were Everlast and Fear Factory, who joined such scheduled performers as the Deftones, Ozomatli, and KRS-One.

The "Smoke Out" festival is being co-sponsored by "Insider" magazine, and for a complete listing of performers and concert updates, check out the festival's official Web site at www.smokeout.net. Tickets for this year's "Smoke Out" concert will go on sale on Friday, September 1 at 4:20 p.m. (PT).

Cypress Hill has just hit the road with rock and download renegades Limp Bizkit for its "Back To Basics" free tour being sponsored by controversial online music-swapping software company Napster (see [article id="1431249"]"Limp Bizkit Kicks Off Free Tour Without A Hitch"[/article]).

Cypress Hill's newest record, the "Skull & Bones" double LP, is currently at number 44 on the "Billboard" album chart and has sold more than 689,000

copies since its release in April.
