TLC Holds On To Top Of Album Chart

Onlookers expecting TLC to quickly drop out of the number spot on the album chart after debuting there last week are in for a surprise.

According to SoundScan sales figures released on Wednesday, the female R&B trio will hold on to the top spot on the "Billboard" album chart next week. The group's "Fanmail" album sold n additional 226,000 copies last week, down from their first week sales of 318,000, but still strong enough to take the number one slot. The seemingly unstoppable Lauryn Hill bounces up to the number two position as her "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" sold another 200,000 copies in its 28th week in stores.

Last week's number two, rapper Eminem, will slip to number three next week as his "Slim Shady" album sold 198,000 copies, down a bit from his first week sales of 283,000.

It was a thin week for new releases with the week's highest debut going to country star George Strait at number six.

The new sales figures also bring the first fruits of Korn and Rob Zombie's

co-headlining tour. The bands, who hit the road earlier this month, each see a bump in sales this week as Zombie's "Hellbilly Deluxe" bounced from sales of 29,000 to 33,000 this week jumping from number 55 to number 45 on the chart. Meanwhile, Korn's "Follow The Leader" saw its sales swell from 42,000 to just under 48,000 shooting it from number 35 to 27.
