'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Poised To Take Over The World

Box-office analyst predicts $43 million second weekend for 'Twilight,' and global ticket sales are stronger than ever.

A week after the debut of the "Twilight Saga" finale, the story of the box-office dominance of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" has spread wide, leaving little doubt that the vampires can still rule the big screen -- but that's not the whole tale.

While the $141 million debut for "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" was impressive on its own and good enough to be the [article id="1697602"]eighth-biggest bow of all time[/article], what has several box-office analysts captivated, including Phil Contrino from, is the response the film has received overseas.

According to Box Office Mojo, foreign ticket sales for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" have added nearly $200 million to its box-office total, which currently sits at $362.5 million. Contrino told MTV News that this is the number people should be focusing on.

" 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' 's domestic performance isn't nearly as interesting as what it's doing globally," Contrino wrote in an email to MTV News. "If 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' tops 'Part 1' 's worldwide total -- and it's on pace to do just that -- it won't be because it performed a whole lot better domestically. It'll be because moviegoers overseas are still very excited by the franchise."

If the trend continues overseas, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" should surpass the series' current record-holder for worldwide total, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1." The first installment to the finale finished up with $712.2 million when all was said and done.

On the domestic side of things, Thanksgiving weekend should be kind to the Cullens. Contrino predicts that "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will win the box office over its competition, which includes the remake of "Red Dawn," Ang Lee's "Life of Pi," and the animated family film "Rise of the Guardians," with a predicted total of $43 million.
