Mickey Rourke isn't one to keep his opinions to himself. The actor is well known for his candid remarks in interviews, and he's making headlines once again as he makes the press rounds for "Immortals," his upcoming swords-and-sandals epic directed by Tarsem Singh.

Recently, Rourke's had a lot to say about his work on "Iron Man 2," an experience he doesn't seem to have enjoyed too much. He took Marvel executives to task for leaving the meat of his Whiplash performance on the editing room floor in an interview with Crave Online. Now, speaking with MTV News, Rourke's had more to say about his disappointment in the "Iron Man" sequel.

"If they let you play the bad guy with other dimensions other than one dimensional," Rourke told MTV of playing a villain. "You have to fight for that though, to bring layers to the character. Otherwise, if you're working for the wrong studio or let's say a director that doesn't have any balls, then they're just gonna want it to be the evil bad guy."

"So, if you're working with some good studio guys that got brains and you're working with a director with a set of nuts that'll let you incorporate that then it's fun," he added, finishing with a zinger: "Otherwise, you end up with what happened on 'Iron Man.'"

Doesn't seem like there's much love lost between Rourke and his "Iron Man" collaborators, then. Thankfully for the actor, he had significantly more positive things to say about working with Tarsem on "Immortals."

"Tarsem was great. He's really smart, innovative," he said. "He had little things that were all 'Oh wow.' And that's what it's all about to have somebody working with you that can kind of take your performance further than you maybe think you can or whatever. And he was so enthusiastic that it rubs off on the crew, it rubs off on the other actors. So it's a collaborative, supportive kind of thing, instead of a laborious technical twelve hours. You get through the day and you look forward to going to work the next day, sometimes."
