19 Times Hip Hop Urged You To Put The Guns Down

From Nicki Minaj to Kanye West, here’s proof that some rappers have understood the impact of a bullet enough to ask listeners to stop the violence.

On Tuesday, Jun. 2, people across the country are uniting to highlight the importance of Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Some folks are wearing orange to mark the occasion. Others are taking the time to educate themselves about the initiative online. But the awareness can come from music too.

While rap often gets criticized for some of its lyrical content, there's plenty of positivity too -- like all the times MCs urge listeners to put their guns down.

From Nicki Minaj to Kanye West, here's proof that some rappers have understood the impact of a bullet enough to ask listeners to stop the violence.

Snoop Dogg - 'No Guns Allowed'
