Photos have surfaced of [artist id="1940303"]Rihanna[/artist] and her pal, [artist id="1962774"]Katy Perry[/artist], vacationing together in Barbados. The duo were snapped on a boat Tuesday in Rihanna's home country.

[article id="1609022"]Perry recently opened up[/article] to MTV News about her friendship with the singer, who was allegedly attacked by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February, saying that tabloid rumors of Perry reaching out to the singer after the incident have been exaggerated.

"I don't think I really, like, reached out to her. We're friends and we're both kind of on this crazy roller coaster, and ... it's nice to have good girlfriends. I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she's a cool chick," Perry said. "We've hung out a couple times."

Perry went on to say that one rumor that hasn't been exaggerated is the one about them being buddies. "Of course I consider her a friend, but it's not like 'I'm there,' making a big deal of it, because I feel weird about that type of stuff. I'm trying to always be there for my friends," she said. "She's a really cool chick. I love her style. ... She's one of those unaffected people."

The two had also been rumored to be planning a Puerto Rican holiday together, gossip that Perry denied -- possibly because the intended vacation spot was Barbados. "Um, you know, we're just buddies. We've had dinner, and that's about it," she said. "Her personal life has probably already been blown, I don't really have to go into that. I'm sure she probably wants a break."
