Lil Wayne Thinks Big Sean Might Be 'One Of The Best' Rappers: Here's Why

Tunechi has some high praise for Sean.

Big Sean and Lil Wayne have worked together a few times, including on Tunechi's "My Homies Still" and Sean Don's "Beware."

But their latest, "Deep," off of the G.O.O.D. Music rapper's Dark Sky Paradise, may be both their best and most significant. And it's not just because both kick spectacular rhymes over the DJ Mustard and Key Wane-produced track -- but also because Wayne gives Sean quite a co-sign.

"I feel like Sean don't get enough shine," the Young Money honcho raps. "Is it because he ain't got the tattoos? He ain't throwing up signs?/ Well, let me throw up mine/ And also let me share this vision of mine/ F--k the finish line, just finish your lines."

Sean was humbled by the verbal display -- but it didn't come at his request.

"I didn't have a conversation with him prior to the verse, really, about what we was gonna rap about," he told MTV News during our trip with him last week on the day of his album's release. "I played the song for him, and then he did his verse, and the next day, we were in the studio together and he gave it to me. He was just like, 'You know, man, I meant every word of this verse. You one of my favorites. You one of the best.'"

Sean particularly highlighted one section from Weezy's verse (which comes right after the above lines):

"If getting your point across crosses the line/ Some of the time then cross it with pride/ That's real, my n---a, remember that/ And it ain't about if they remember you, they remember rap/ So just spit it back and hope somebody diggin' that, 'cause this sh-t is deep"

"He was just like, I meant every word of it, man," the 26-year-old continued. "And I thought that was just some real sh-t, 'cause I'm not signed to Lil Wayne, you know what I'm saying? The fact that another artist could put they ego aside, big up another artist like that and not be getting no money off of them away from the songs we do together, I think that's just real. That's OG status."
