'Eclipse,' 'Last Airbender' Lead Razzie Nominations

Both films received nine out of a possible 10 nods for awards that recognize the year's worst in film.

Avert your eyes, Twi-hards. The nominations for the 31st Annual Razzie Awards were announced on Sunday night, and "Eclipse," the third installment of the "Twilight" saga, and M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" lead the pack with nine nods each.

"Eclipse" may have been the least critically panned film of the series thus far, but that wasn't enough to win over the folks at the Razzies. The movie picked up nine out of a possible 10 nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Director (David Slade), Worst Screenplay and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.

But the nominations bound to ruffle the most "Twilight" fan feathers are those concerning the beloved cast, including Razzie nods for Worst Actor for Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, both of whom also received mention for other work, in "Remember Me" and "Valentine's Day," respectively. Other acting nominations include Kristen Stewart for Worst Actress, Jackson Rathbone for Worst Supporting Actor for "Eclipse" and "The Last Airbender" and the entire cast for Worst Screen Ensemble.

While the "Twilight" parody "Vampires Suck" also snagged a few of the same nominations, including Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, Razzies founder John Wilson argued that "Eclipse" was more of a comedy.

According to The Associated Press, Wilson explained, "I know people who are into 'Twilight' who take it totally seriously and they're very vociferous," adding, "Those of us who are not 'Twi-hards,'

we don't get it. I don't actually know any teenage girls who have had to make the choice between a werewolf and a vampire."

Of course, Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender" wasn't let off the hook either. The fantasy flick, based on an animated television series of the same name, earned a paltry seven percent rating on RottenTomates.com and an equally embarrassing nine Razzie nominations.

Those include Worst Picture, Worst Eye-Gouging Use of 3-D, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay for Shyamalan and Worst Supporting Actor for Rathbone and Dev Patel.

Rounding out the Worst Picture nominations are the action comedy "The Bounty Hunter" and the "Sex and the City" sequel, which also picked up nods for Worst Sequel, Worst Supporting Actress for Liza Minnelli's cameo, and Worst Screenplay and Director for Michael Patrick King. In addition, all four of the film's lead actresses are simultaneously up for Worst Actress and Worst Ensemble.

Plenty of fellow A-listers felt the wrath of the Razzies this year, and whether they'll be good sports and show up like last year's "winner" Sandra Bullock remains to be seen. "The Bounty Hunter" stars Jennifer Aniston (also nominated for her performance in the fertility mix-up comedy "The Switch") and Gerard Butler are both up for Razzies for their work in the summer flop. Jack Black received a nod for "Gulliver's Travels" and Miley Cyrus for "The Last Song."

Ashton Kutcher pulled off a double nomination for "Valentine's Day" and "Killers." Megan Fox is nominated twice for "Jonah Hex," in the categories of Worst Actress and, with Josh Brolin, Worst Screen Couple (which is listed as being for "Megan Fox's Accent and Josh Brolin's Face").

But it was Jessica Alba who pulled off the most bang for her buck, as her work in four flicks -- "Little Fockers," "Valentine's Day," "The Killer Inside Me" and "Machete" -- earned her a spot on the Worst Actress list.

The Razzies, which are chosen by roughly 600 voters, will be handed out on February 26, the night before the 2011 Academy Awards. Here's the entire list of the 2010 Razzie Award nominations:
