See World Through Slipknot's Eyes With 'Disasterpieces'

DVD features concert, videos, first-person-angle feature.

Can't decide which member of Slipknot you like best?

The nine-member menace's new DVD, "Disasterpieces," facilitates the decision-making process by giving viewers the option to focus exclusively on one member and see things from his point of view, or absorb the entire spectacle in all its sonic and visual glory.

The concert portion of the disc, which is due in late November, according to a Roadrunner Records spokesperson, was recorded in February, when 12,000 maggots — or Slipknot fans — infested England's London Arena to experience one of rock's most manically intense live shows. The 90-minute set includes singles "My Plague," "Wait and Bleed" and "Left Behind," as well as fan favorites "Spit It Out," "Surfacing" and "People = Sh--" among its 14 tracks.

"Purity," a song that originally appeared on 1999's self-titled debut but was removed from future pressings because of a copyright issue, is also on the concert set list, while the studio version is included on the DVD as an audio-only bonus track.

While the end result promises to be a unique visual experience, the more-than-30 cameras used to film it proved problematic for some members.

"It was kind of a pain in the ass," bassist Paul Grey (a.k.a. #2) remembered. "We wore these little microphone cameras — pin cameras. We wore them on our heads, strapped to our masks. So you'll be able to click on whatever bandmember and you'll be able to watch from that bandmember's point of view. But it was a f---in' pain in the ass because with this camera strapped on your head, [there was] this big pack that we had to wear around our waist. So when you're jumping around ... it was falling down into my leg and I'd have to go back.

"I managed about four songs with that thing before I f---ing ripped it off," he added. "And [DJ] Sid [Wilson] jumped out in the crowd, and [fans] ripped his coveralls completely off of him and stole the camera."

Portions of Wilson's run-in with his rabid fans can be seen in the video for "My Plague," which, along with the clips for "Wait and Bleed" and "Spit It Out," is also included. Backstage footage, the director's cut of the "Left Behind" video and an animated version of "Wait and Bleed" round out the features of "Disasterpieces."
