'Victorious' Star Victoria Justice Talks 'Being True' To Herself On New Album

She's got a hit TV show, "Victorious," and a fledgling movie career thanks to "Fun Size," and now Victoria Justice is looking to kick start her music career. She's already proved she's got the skills to pay the bills on her hit Nick show, so now the teen star is working on her very own musical side project.

"I have been, been writing a lot, and it's been like the most fun experience ever," she told Hollywood Crush a few weeks back. "Just working a lot on my album and being true to myself and also the 'Victorious' soundtrack, which is gonna be out soon."

The soundtrack drops July 12. Fans of the singer are already jamming out to her crushy pop anthem, "Best Friend's Brother," and the video features a dreamy guy who Victoria imagines being with quite vividly. "The videos about me having a crush on my best friend's brother and me not wanting her to know but wanting to spend some alone time with him," she said of the playful clip. "So it was really fun."

So what inspired the song? "I wrote this song because I was working with my good friends and two very talented writers named Savan Kotecha and Kojak and we were in this writing session and couldn’t come up with any ideas for a song," she recently told Teen.com. "I had this moment of inspiration where I said, ‘Wait, why don’t we write a song about having a crush on your best friend’s brother?’ They, being two guys, didn’t understand. I told them, 'Trust me, I get it. I’ve been through this. We’re writing the song.'"
