Trae Tha Truth Rallies J. Cole, Jadakiss And Kendrick Lamar For All-Star ‘I’m On 2.0’ Video

By Rob Markman

Only Trae tha Truth can rally hip-hop’s biggest figures for one all-star music video. Today the Houston, Texas veteran dropped his clip for “I’m On 2.0” and landed MTV’s Jam of the Week.

Big K.R.I.T., Jadakiss, J. Cole. Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, Tyga, Gudda Gudda, Bun B and English R&B singer Mark Morrison all appear on the song and in the video, but Trae snagged cameos from over a dozen hip-hop luminaries to make the clip even more special. While most posse cuts center around specific crews or rappers from the same city, the ABN MC gathers talent from around the country, focusing on talent and not location or affiliation.

After a dramatic intro with Trae and Morrison, the musical portion of the video begins as it should with a visual dedication to Clip D, Trae’s buddy who passed away last year. From there it is an all-out party starting with a heartfelt verse from K.R.I.T., followed by bars from Trae, Kiss, Cole, K. Dot, Bobby Ray, Young Money’s Tyga and Gudda and a song-closing gem from the Underground King Bun B.

The video for “Im On 2.0” serves as a who’s who of rap talent. T.I., Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, DJ Drama, Juelz Santana, Styles P, Meek Mill, Future, Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane and Cee-Lo account for just a fraction the clip’s cameos.

By the close of the video Trae proved that while he may have been black balled by a few corporate power holders, when it comes to love, he gets it where it counts-- in the streets. He’s on!
