Dixie Chicks Stay On Top As Coal Chamber Lands On Chart

Coal Chamber comes on strong, but next week's album chart will once again be all about the Dixie Chicks.

According to sales figures released by SoundScan on Wednesday, the country trio will remain at number one for a second week with their second album "Fly." The Chicks sold an additional 203,000 copies of the record to hold on to the top spot.

Actually very little will change on next week's chart as Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Santana, Kid Rock, Britney Spears, Limp Bizkit, and Ricky Martin all maintain their top ten residency.

The highest debut of the week comes at number 22, where Ozzfest grads Coal Chamber land with their second album, "Chamber Music." The Los Angeles-based outfit sold more than 48,000 copies of the record in its first week in stores. Also scoring notable debuts next week will be Steve Vai at 121, Mr. Mike at 172, and John Popper's "Zygote" at 185.

While the week brings little in the way of explosive chart movement, it does bring some

benefits for artists who scored some face time at last week's MTV Video Music Awards. Kid Rock, Ricky Martin, Eminem, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, and Korn all turned their time as winners or performers (or both) into sales jumps.
