Elton John Casts Robert Downey Jr. In His New Video

Actor lip-synchs to John's vocals in clip for "I Want Love."

Elton John has given Robert Downey Jr. his first acting job since the troubled thespian was ordered into a drug treatment program in July. The actor shot a video for John's next single, "I Want Love," in Beverly Hills, California, earlier this week, according to John's publicist.

Downey lip-synchs to John's vocals in the video, shot by director Sam Taylor-Wood. The ballad will appear on John's Songs From the West Coast, due October 2 (see [article id="1445313"]"Elton John Goes West With Stevie Wonder, Rufus Wainwright"[/article]).

Songs From the West Coast pairs John with longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin for their first full-album collaboration since 1997, and it features guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston and Rufus Wainwright.

Like Downey, John himself has struggled with drug addiction in the past, completing a treatment program in 1990.
