Jay Electronica is certainly one of hip-hop's biggest enigmas, but his recent role in the dissolution of a British socialite marriage between heiress Kate Rothschild and billionaire financier son Ben Goldsmith continues to confound.

Rothschild and Jay are now an official item, and the heiress was recently seen leaving Electronica's Chelsea apartment along with the rapper. With her rescue dog in tow as well, the couple walked to work together as tabloids documented the scene.

The Daily Mail, always on the case, reported on the dissolution of the couple's eight-year marriage, claiming that Goldsmith found explicit texts and emails between Rothschild and Electronica. This apparently led to an altercation where police were summoned to the couple's mansion in the city's affluent Kensington neighborhood. Goldsmith was subsequently arrested and released without a charge, yet he quickly moved to file for divorce because of adultery.

Fans are hoping this unlikely love story isn't another distraction from the completion of Jay's long-awaited debut LP. Back in March, Jay-Z, Electronica's boss at Roc Nation, said that the album is "really close" to done. "I want people to be creative and not traditional," he told MTV News.
