Last year at the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift's squad ruled the carpet. But this year, a plethora of squads took over the white carpet and the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden, and we're all the better for it.
Whether they consist of bands, Olympians, musicians, or a combination, these are the squads to join before next year's VMAs.
The Final Five (Minus One)
Olympians Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, Laurie Hernandez, and Simone Biles lived everyone's dream at the VMAs, meeting Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian West, and more. Fifth member Gabby Douglas was unfortunately recuperating and couldn't make the event.
Nick Jonas performed "Bacon" with Ty Dolla $ign (not pictured), and everyone got in on the fun, including bro Joe's band DNCE, Odell Beckham Jr., Josh "The Fat Jew" Ostrovsky, Dave Osokow, and Taylor Hill.
The Song of Summer winners proudly showed off their Moonmen.
Olympian Phelps and fiancée Johnson shared a laugh with Kimye.
Rihanna and All Her Badass Dancers
For anyone who says three people aren't enough for a squad, think again.
Please see above.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
These drag queens totally owned the white carpet with their iconic VMA outfit re-creations.
This is the best squad photo from the entire night. Don't argue — you know it's true.
