Madonna Would 'Rather Get Run Over By A Train' Than Marry Again

Singer also joked about living abroad during the Bush years on her eighth appearance on 'Late Show With David Letterman.'

[artist id="1098"]Madonna[/artist] has walked down the proverbial aisle twice in her life. She was married to Sean Penn for four years in the 1980s, and after nearly eight years of marriage, she divorced second husband Guy Ritchie last November. So, is three times the charm for Madge?

Evidently the answer is a resounding no. During her appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" on Wednesday night, Letterman asked if she'd consider marrying again. She answered emphatically, "I think I'd rather get run over by a train."

When asked if she's ever dated anyone in the world of hockey (she was carried into the studio by a group of hockey players), she told Letterman, "No, that's the one sport I haven't investigated." Letterman even brought up her former flame, Alex Rodriguez, but in true Madonna fashion, she cleverly declined to discuss it.

When the subject of her eight-year marriage to Guy Ritchie came up, she reminded Letterman that those were the "Bush years" and that she'd been living in England during that time. "It was a good time to be out of America," she joked.

It was the singer's eighth appearance on the show, and when the pair were through talking about her love life, Letterman took Madonna out for her first-ever slice of New York pizza.

"Every time I'm on the show I feel like I'm a different person," she said about her numerous visits to the show. "I'm not myself. I think I may have made a fool myself once or twice on your show as well." She also joked that she may have smoked a joint before one of her stopovers.
