'Beauty and the Beast' 3D Trailer Is Beautiful, Beastly

It may be a tale as old as time, but Disney's animated classic "Beauty and the Beast" is about to get a decidedly modern update -- and we've got the first official trailer for their upcoming 3-D re-release to prove it.

Now that's a presentation grand enough even for Gaston.

Of course, since the internet still isn't yet in full 3-D, you'll have to settle for a regular old two dimensional look at the trailer from Yahoo! Movies. But if there was ever a movie that didn't need any Belles and whistles to sell it, it's "Beauty and the Beast;" after all, the 1991 retelling of the timeless fairy tale remains one of the only animated films to ever receive a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.

And considering "Beauty and the Beast" was one of the first animated features to utilize computer generated animation -- Belle and the Beast's dance routine remains an iconic moment in cinema -- the film should be especially interesting in 3-D, not to mention easy to convert. All of which adds up to one thing: Another must-see movie event from the mouse house.

Here's the new trailer for "Beauty and the Beast," which will arrive in 3-D on Jan. 13.
