Rockin' Soundtrack For Howard Stern's 'Private Parts'

Yep, Green Day have cut a song for the Stern film.

Perusing the track listing for the soundtrack, Howard Stern

Private Parts: The Album (Feb. 25), to Howard Stern's feature film debut,

Private Parts (Mar. 7), you're excused if you feel overtaken by a

certain musical vertigo.

Mixing the old (Deep Purple) with the new

(Marilyn Manson) and the just bizarre (Stern and the Dust Brothers), the

29-track CD (16 of the tracks are comedy bits and snippets of movie dialogue),

Stern and company have put together a soundtrack that's as all-over-the-place

as Stern's radio show used to be.

Up for the short stroke are: Rob Zombie

with Stern, "The Great American Nightmare"; LL Cool J with Flea, Dave Navarro

and Chad Smith (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), "I Make My Own Rules"; Porno for

Pyros with Flea and Dave Navarro, "Hard Charger"; Marilyn Manson,"The Suck For

Your Solution"; Ozzy Osbourne with Type O Negative, "Pictures of Matchstick

Men" (a cover of the old Status quo song); Green Day, "Tired of Waiting for

You" (a cover of the Kinks classic recorded especially for the soundtrack); The

Ramones, "Pinhead"; Deep Purple, "Smoke on the Water"; Cheap Trick, "I Want You

To Want Me"; Ted Nugent, "Cat Scratch Fever"; Van Halen, "Jamie's Cryin'";

AC/DC, "You Shook Me All Night Long" (live); Howard Stern and Dust Brothers,

"Tortured Man.

Some of the between-song bits have names like: "Pig Virus,"

"The Contest," "The Howard Stern Experience," "Crackhead Bob" and "The

Anti-Christ." Knowing that Stern fans are gluttons for punishment, the CD will

be available with four different cover designs and one lucky Sternophile will

find the Golden Ticket, a coupon hidden among a single disc in the first run

that will be good for a solid gold CD, to be delivered to the winner's home in

a Brink's truck.
