Emily Browning Wants You to See the Cut Sucker Punch Sex Scene

"Sucker Punch" star Emily Browning, who plays Baby Doll in director Zack Snyder's upcoming film, is not a happy camper. She got to do what almost every woman in the world would kill to do: film a steamy scene with the always-dashing Mad Men star, Jon Hamm.

Dream come true? Not quite.

According to a Nylon magazine  interview with the actress (tracked down by CinemaBlend), the Motion Picture Association of America aka the bane of most filmmakers' existences, told Snyder that if he wanted the golden PG-13 rating, that the "sex scene" would have to be cut. Browning calls the scene "tame" and describes it as a moment full of "heavy breathing and making out" and its removal has her in a tizzy.

"I think that it's great for this young girl to actually take control of her own sexuality. Well, the MPAA doesn't like that. They don't think a girl should ever be in control of her own sexuality because they're from the Stone Age. I don't know what the f**k is going on and I will openly criticize it, happily."

On the flip side, Browning also understands the importance of the PG-13 rating, especially if she wants to reach a large female audience with a story of empowerment. She says, "I'm torn. I want an 'R' (rating) because we can get a lot of cool scenes into it, but then I like the idea of younger girls being able to see it."

As a film that's already receiving heat for being gratuitous and exploitive towards women, it's apparent why Browning would feel strongly about a scene in which her character as the opportunity to take advantage of a situation, even sexually. Whether or not the movie can send an important message without the seductive encounter will only be known when "Sucker Punch" hits theaters this Friday.
